Card on File

Product Overview

Credential-on-File (COF), also known as stored credential, refers to transactions where the cardholder has authorized the merchant to securely store their card details for future use. These stored card transactions enable merchants to initiate future purchases or recurring charges without requiring the cardholder to re-enter their card information. When a card is stored, the security code (CVV) does not need to be provided for subsequent transactions, streamlining the payment process while maintaining security and convenience.

Who is this for

The Credential-on-File (COF) feature is designed for merchants who want to enhance their customers' payment experience by securely storing card information for future transactions. This is particularly beneficial for businesses that offer subscription services, recurring billing, or any scenario where customers frequently make repeat purchases. It’s also ideal for merchants looking to streamline the checkout process, reduce cart abandonment, and improve conversion rates by eliminating the need for customers to repeatedly enter their payment details.
